Hello My Beloved Family!!!
Today we ate raw fish and a famous restaurant in Ken Ding! It was actually not bad just slimey! Haha so put on my list of weird foods: Raw tuna, salmon, and sword fish! Fish eggs and seaweed with soy sauce also with wassabi for the spice! Look it up on google it's really famous its called (hui ge)! brother hui!!! its by da guang! Maybe you can find it, use da guang for the address ...by the way my favorite soup here is seaweed soup its the best!!!!!
Happy Birthday Dad!!!! Haha I knew you would love the shirt! I've been eating a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwichs so take good care of it . It was pretty expensive but you are definitely worth it! Does it fit good? It looked great on you! Wow, it sounds like your b-day dinner was a blast! I am happy it got there in time..by the way when did you get it? I loved the group picture! A little blurry I couldn't see everybody, haha I thought that was Max! I wasn't sure though..maybe you can send it to me!
YES I got your package last Thursday! It's not Zone Conference yet so keep sending those manilla envelopes, great idea! Loved the candy most of all the toothbrush!!! haha purple is laker colors thats ok!!!
I am bummed I can't see Elder Mix again he is in Taibei also Elder Moes and Elder Wilson moved up there! Maybe i will move at the end of this move call! Wow Taibei Little Leaugue! Thats sweet I hope they win!
So yesterday we rode on the bus all day up to Dong Gang (East Harbor) by Gao Siung (high hero) haha and one of the bridges was destroyed so it took us 2 hours there and back. We went there for District meeting because Elder Cleaver and I are the only ones here in ken ding! but ya I had a crazy week as well!
I told you we have an investigator named Graham he is from Canada. The other day I thought it would be cool to show him finding faith in Christ. The spirit was strong all the way to the end, expecially watching the Savior suffer and come back a resurrected being! He was being very negative. I heard this and I bore testimony in the name of Jesus Christ that he is the Savior and redeemer of the world and he can know by asking God himself in sincere prayer! Elder Cleaver said politley Elder Christensen can you please say the prayer....after all of this he apoligized and said he has alot of questions and just really confused! We said don't ask us ask God! Then he left! Now I havn't talked to him since this all happened on Moday, but I wonder what he thinks now! We were thinking about not meeting with him anymore but I think the next time will be a do or die lesson, we are going to invite him to be baptized on September 29th if he rejects this he will be done and we will kill him! (stop teaching him is the meaning!) I don't feel we are wasting time or anything with this guy but he needs a lot of help! Please pray for Graham to have his heart softened! What I loved most about this experience is I didn't get mad when he was swearing in the church and bashing on Christ but what shut him up was us bearing testimony that we know Christ is the savior! What's he going to say no you dont! Nope the spirit wouldn't let him! It says in preach my gospel when you bear testimony it backs people up to the wall of faith! We could of bashed with him but we didn't because we knew that when you bear testimony the spirit comes and that is the end. Anyone can say that's not true but they can't tell me that what I know to be true is FALSE!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is one huge thing I have learned while being on my mission, testimonies are our ammunition and I love it when I bear testimony and walk away!!!!! I do it on the streets every day!!!!! So my invite to you, don't bash with friends and family members! Bear testimony! It's a tool that God has given us to shut the adversary up! And Satan quivers every time we bear testimony because there is nothing he can do to make people not feel the spirit! Does that make sense? My english is horrible! This is my testimony that I know that testimonies are a tool we have to invite others to feel the spirit and come unto christ! in the name of Jesus Christ Amen!!! I love you all!

August 16, 2009 - Letter
Hello my Beautiful Family!
Wow what a week! Move calls are in and I get to stay here in paradise with just me and Elder Brian Ron Cleaver from Kingston, Washington State..outside of Seattle! He is awesome! We were excited to stay together! We had a chance to work with each other already and we both know each others strengths and weaknesses already! Because this last week it has been me, Elder Swenson and him..I don't know if I told you that yet! but ya Elder Swenson left this morning to become a Zone Leader in east Tai Zhong city! He was a great companion, I learned a lot from him! and he will truly be missed. But I really think that Elder Cleaver and I will destroy this area!!!! We have made a lot of good goals to find lots of new prepared people and get our old investigators baptized!!! I am so excited to be with him! He is a really good missionary!
Haha I am fine!!! Down here in Heng Chun there is no damage or severe floods...just some peoples houses got badly flooded! ya I heard about the landslides and all of the deaths and missing people! When we get in peoples houses or eat at a diner we see the news but still try not to look or get distracted! Ya we had to go without water for 3 days!!!!! I couldn't shower! So every morning we went to the church to shave and brush our teeth! Those 3 days were'nt fun but it humbled me a lot because people in the world and some here in Hengchun don't have any water. They have to pump it from the ground! But ya we did a lot of service for members and our investigators helping them haul water into their homes! Every one in Hengchun had no water for these days! So most people lined up to shower at the gas station! So while most people got to shower we could'nt because there was no time and of course we still had to do missionary work and lots of service! Now I have no idea why i didn't have good personal hygenine before my mission but I W do now and not showering for 3 days was not fun. We had electricity though..haha we made fun of Summer because we had power and she didn't! But she is a good sport!
Also this might be kinda weird but if you can send me a dog whistle, I would be so happy! The kind that no one can hear only the dogs! So when we are trying to talk to a family while tracting but their darn dog wont stop barking..you blow it and it will make them be quiet for 24 hours depending on how good the whistle is of course! So ya this was Elder Heders idea I am not sure if any other missionaries have one but I think it will help further the work of the lord...haha I know I am trying to sell you right now but seriously because the dogs are so loud it's hard to listen to the people expecially trying to understand in Chinese! Also it will prevent me from getting bittin from mean abandoned stray dogs on the side of the road! Ya the other day one chased me...I wished I had that whistle! So what do you think? Can you help me out! hahha I told you that was a weird request but it will be very helpfull, I'm sure of it! I know I am a good at convincing you huh? Elder Cleaver likes the idea as well!

Ok! Sorry if I minimize this it will erase everything...I almost did so I got scared and sent the last letter! but ya I want to talk about Alyea right now! You didn't get the jeep?!? haha jk I love that 4 runner! Blue right? Next week tell me about it! What year? Do you have a cd player? The interior looks sweet as well! I can't believe you are almost 16! I hope you have a happy sweet 16th Birthday! I got you a little something! I will send it today but it might get there a little after your b-day! But you are going to love it!
Mom and Dad happy 23 rd anniversary! Did you have a good one! Write me all about it! I hope you are doing great 23 is such a great accomplishment! Oh by the way last week we had no church! anyways we were talking about eternal marraige and it made me remember you just had your anniversary! Eternal marriage is the greatest gift God can give to us because it is all tied into living together forever and becoming as Gods! Doctorine and Covenants 132 is really good! Please read it together tonight! I like the part that it says man and wife will pass all the angels and Gods and receive their eternal exaltation! I love you all so much you are the best parents I could ask for.
